The Pros and Cons of False Eyelashes

The Pros and Cons of False Eyelashes

There’s no doubt that false lashes are an invention we’re all thankful for. Like everything in this world, it has its ups and downs. And if you’ve thought of trying falsies but want a truthful review, here it is.

The Pros

  • False eyelashes are perfect for minimal commitment and maximal flexibility

Eyelash extensions are expensive and require maximum commitment and care as they stay on for weeks. Falsies are a one-off trial, where you can take them off at the end of the night without worrying ‘bout a thing. You don’t have to wipe anything off with makeup remover either like you would with mascara, so it’s time-efficient and super simple (Yay!)

  • There’s a whole range out there to suit everyone

From big, bold lashes with full volume to natural, everyday styles, false eyelashes showcase a tonne of variety for any person and any occasion. Unlike mascara and eyelash extensions where you’re locked into one look only, falsies have an infinite amount of styles you can play with.

  • False eyelashes are reusable (usually)

Falsies used to be one-use-only, disposable products. But nowadays, brands like ours have created lashes that can be used over and over. So, if you’ve used a full-glam set or your favourite natural wispies, and can’t bear to say goodbye, now you don’t have to!

The Cons

  • False eyelashes aren’t one-size-fits-all

Since we’re all so different and beautiful in our own ways, it’s hard to make falsies that don’t need to be modified. Usually, they need to be trimmed at the sides to fit your eye shape, which can be a hassle. They also take a while to get the hang of when it comes to applying – and you’ve got to be a pro to get it done in anything less than 2 minutes. Mascara and eyelash extensions can be tailored to your own self with less effort.

  • Glues HURT

Some false eyelash brands will require you to attach them to your eyelids and natural eyelashes using glues and adhesives. Not only are these not-so-safe for your delicate eye area, but pulling them off can hurt… a lot. At Nicola Cosmetics, we’ve ditched the pain and created magnetic lashes, so no glues get to tug on your skin and cause trouble.

The Bottom Line

False eyelashes are worth the investment, offering great variety and convenience. Although it takes time to master the art of application and experiment with what works for you, once you find the perfect pair – you’ll never go back!
